 Book History

There are too less books about digital television
and too less books about metadata!

Especially books not just simply describing how
to multiplex audio/video within a MPEG-2 stream
are simply rarely to find on current markets.
After being asked on a conference in Seattle,
Washington
in the summer of 2002 if we are
interested in writing a book about our research efforts, we agreed.

But what should the topic be?”, we asked ourselves.
Innovative – filling the gap of existing broadcast books
 – stuffed with new ideas – the content in digital TV
is a interactive narrative – bringing a new vision
into the world of broadcasting – popularizing the idea
 of metadata …
”, where a few of the basic key-words
we noted. Bringing it to the point, we just decided
on writing about digital television and metadata and its innovative scenarios.

After a period of almost 2 years and encouraging
help from our publisher we could
complete the book in its current form.
