The annual IEEE Finland Section Signal Processing and Circuits and Systems Chapter meeting took place on December 19th 2001 in the new TUT building Tietotalo. The chairman of the chapter Prof. Ioan Tabus presented the annual report of the chapter activities. New chapter officers were elected. Prof. Karen Egiazarian will act as a Chairman and Dr. Atanas Gotchev will be the chapter secretary.
The IEEE Fellow Committee has named Prof. Tapio Saramäki to Fellow Grade effective First of January 2002 for contributions to the design and implementation of digital filters and filter banks.
