Kaisa Väänänen-Vainio-Mattila is a full professor of usability in Tampere
University of Technology, Institute of
Human-Centered Technology. She has over 15 years experience in usability/HCI both in academia and industry.
Her research topics cover user-centered design methods in product development of different industrial branches, including mobile applications, smart home systems, and machine automation. In addition, her research interests are in user experience design and user innovation methods.

Virpi Roto is a Principal Scientist at Nokia Research Center in Helsinki. Her background is in computer science and she has 15 years of experience in usability/HCI field, most of that time in Nokia Research Center. She has employed various usability and user experience evaluation methods in her work, and understands about the applicability of different methods in industrial setting. The topic of her recent PhD thesis was user experience in Web browsing on mobile phones, and she has widened the research scope to generic UX elements and UX evaluation since.

Marc Hassenzahl is Junior-Professor for Economic Psychology at the University of Koblenz-Landau. He is currently vice president of the German Chapter of the UPA. His research interests are usability engineering, user experience, aesthetics, new analysis and evaluation methods, economic psychology, judgment and choice. Since 1997, he published over 25 journal papers / book chapters and gave over 30 talks. He recently edited a special issue of Behaviour and
Information Technology on "Empirical Studies of the User Experience".
