Passing the course
Passing the course consists of four different areas:
You have to pass every area, meaning you have to have at least grade of 1 in every area. The final grade is formed with the formula 0,5*(Grade of the weekly exercises and home exercises) +0,5*(Grade of the examination). Grades are rounded with the "round-half-up" method. For example 3,5 is rounded to 4 and 3,4 is rounded to 3.
Weekly exercises and home exercises
The course has six weekly exercises. Participating in an exercise is worth one point per exercise. There are also two home exercises related to weekly exercises.
There will be two mandatory research participations in the course. This means you will take part in a user-experience study of technology use, such as filling in an online questionnaire. The exact studies and dates will be announced later. The research participation starts only after the weekly exercises have ended and after the examination week (e.g. after Oct 22nd). You will be informed about the studies and your participation as soon as the information becomes available.
After research participation, the studies and their aims will be discussed in class relative to the learning content of the course. Participating in the research studies will give you a better view on how data is collected from real-life users to assess user experience.
We will employ an automated system to ensure your participation in the studies. Research participation is graded as passed/failed.
Moodle assignments consists of four obligatory tasks that are graded passed/failed.
More detailed information about the Moodle assingnments and their deadlines you can find from Moodle.
