Course Info:

Goal: Design and build a scaled PCB version of an RF-ASIC for modern receiver and transmitter architectures. The student's B.Sc. thesis will be based on the work done in this seminar.

Contents: 1. Presentations and discussions concerning topics related to the design, analysis, and implementation of RF circuits.

Requirements: Study, design, simulate, build and measure the printed circuit board (PCB) of a new GHz-range circuit (such as an LNA, VCO/ICO, PA, PLL, T/H etc.) scaled down in frequency. Measured performance of the completed PCB version, which meets the specifications and written report.

Recommended prerequisites:

  1. TLT-8016 Basic Analog Circuits, 6 cr (link to course page) or equivalent knowledge.
  2. TLT-8106 Basic Communication Circuits, 4 cr (link to course page) or equivalent knowledge.
  3. TLT-8206 Communication Circuits and Modules I, 4 cr (link to course page) or equivalent knowledge.
