Course Assignment
The assignment is done under the guidance of the supervising professor. It should include the following parts:
(1) a background literature study of
his research area
(2) research plan for the
doctoral studies.
The substance area for this exercise can be freely chosen, and doesn't have to be related with actual research topic, which might still be unclear if a student is not yet engaged with any specific research activities. If you don't have a supervising professor yet, you can talk, e.g., with any of the contact persons listed below to identify a suitable person.
Notes: The course is compulsory for post-graduate students of the participating departments. Students applying for the post-graduate program should take this course no later than during the first year of their post-graduate studies. The students can be officially accepted to the program only after passing this course (no later than one year after applying). The course is also recommended for MSc students aiming at working in R&D projects in industry. MSc students (still pursuing for MSc degree) who have not made the final decision on whether to apply for the post-graduate studies, are allowed to do the exercises later.
