Lintula user account agreement
- Use for commercial purposes is strictly forbidden without written
agreement.
- Giving your user account to another person, letting another person use
it or using another persons account is not allowed. You are not allowed
to give your account to anyone. You may not leave your session open on
any workstation so that someone else could use it.
- Users may use the computers without limits on CPU time, but running
multiple computing tasks should be avoided.
- The disk space on home directory is limited. Users are required to
remove files that are no longer needed even if they would fit on the
users quota.
- You may not leave your files in public directories even if you have
write permissions to them (/share/tmp is the only exception).
- You are not allowed to reserve a public workstation for a long time
using any kind of screen lock program.
- Users are responsible for protecting their files (file permissions)
- Breaking into the files of other users or the operating system is
strictly forbidden.
- Users must change their password on a regular basis. The password may
not be easily guessable.
- Reasonable use of the universitys telecommunication link is allowed.
Use that clearly exceeds normal volume may result in billing the
institute or the user.
- Without a special permit, students are only allowed to use printers
located in workstation classes. Using printers as photocopiers is
forbidden. You must fetch the print jobs from the printer after it has
finished printing.
- Account will be closed after the expiration date. If the account has
been closed for half a year the account will be removed.
- Breaking these terms will result in closing the account. It may also
have financial repercussions.
- Lintula can limit the use of computers selectively.
- Lintula will not be responsible for the losses caused by disruptions in
service.
- Changes can be made to these terms under one months notice.
