Information about closure of account, closed account, and removal of
accounts
User account will be closed when:
- Users account in TUT Intranet has been closed. This may happen because:
- You are not student anymore (you may have graduated or you haven't
registered for semester).
- Your job contract has been expired.
- Users Lintula account has expired.
- You will receive email about this 2 weeks before closure of your
account.
- Your password is expired. According to TUT password policy, password
must be changed every 9th month.
- Your password has been too easy and it's been guessed by our automatic
checker.
Closed account
Accounts are closed semi-automatically, which means that account is not
necessarily closed the next day from it being expired.
- Email: When account is closed, it cannot receive any email.
Auto-response will be send back to sender, saying the account is closed.
Also forwarding mail (.forward) or procmail doesn't work.
- Home directory: Users home directory is not removed as long as
the account exists (even if it's closed). But when account is closed,
no-one will have access to the home directory.
- Homepage: When account is closed, homepage of the account owner
can not be accessed anymore
Account removal:
When account has been unused (closed) for over six months, it will be
removed (this is not done automatically, so older accounts may still exist).
When account is removed, owners mailbox, home directory and homepages will
also be removed.
