Location and Time

International Symposium on System-on-Chip is organized in Tampere, Finland on November 19-21, 2003.
A full-day tutorial on reconfigurable computing is given on November 18 (organizer: Jos Huisken, Philips Research Laboratories).

The event location is Tampere Hall.

Submission Due Dates

Invited lectures and scientific papers: May 30, 2003.
Tutorials: June 30, 2003.
Industrial abstracts and panels: August 29, 2003.

For the submission of scientific papers please follow the link to our submission page. The submission should be a draft full-length paper in two-column format, no more than 4 pages, in pdf format. The final paper format templates are here:

The papers may be accepted for oral or poster presentation. The decision of the presentation format will be made by the program chair, based on the comments from paper review. Independently of the decision, all papers are included in the proceedings.

The schedule for the rest of the process is:

Notification of acceptance for the scientific papers: July 30, 2003.
Final camera-ready paper due by: August 29, 2003.

For the submission of invited lecture candidates or tutorial candidates, or if you wish to suggest a panel topic and/or participants, please contact directly Prof. Jari Nurmi.

For the submission of industrial abstracts please wait until the scientific paper deadline has passed and use our submission page then. The submission should be a one-page summary in two-column format, in pdf. The final accepted industrial abstracts will be published in the proceedings as well, if they conform to the specified format. There will not be another round for the industrial abstracts, they will be published as-is in the proceedings, so be careful! An accepted industrial abstract implies an oral presentation slot in the industry sessions. The industry program chair will decide upon the scheduling.

Notification of acceptance for the industrial abstracts: by September 19, 2003.

Submitting a paper on either of the tracks is a commitment to send at least one paying participant to the symposium to take care of the presentation.

Tutorial

On November 18 there will be a full-day tutorial on Reconfigurable Computing.

Symposium Program

Here is the symposium advanced program. This is now THE FINAL PROGRAM.

Registration

The symposium registration fees are:

Early registration 500 euros (before September 19)
Regular registration 600 euros (between September 20 and November 3)
Late/on-site registration 700 euros (from November 4)

The payment options are credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, EuroCard) and bank transfer.

The fees cover everything but accommodation, i.e., admission to the presentations and exhibit, lunches, coffee breaks, banquet, social events, printed proceedings, CD-ROM, transportation between the symposium venue, downtown hotels and social event venues (at scheduled times).

For the tutorial, the fees are:

Early registration 120 euros (before September 19)
Regular registration 150 euros (between September 20 and November 3)
Late/on-site registration 180 euros (from November 4)

Accompanying persons can participate in lunches, dinner, banquet, coffee breaks and exhibit by paying a fee of 250 euros (conference days Nov. 19-21) and/or 60 euros (tutorial day Nov. 18). No specific accompanying person program will be arranged.

Page Limits

The page limits for the final papers are:

4 pages for the scientific papers
1 page for the industrial papers

Additional pages can be included for a fee of 100 euros / page. Maximum total number of pages is eight (8). Additional pages can be purchased here.

Social Events

More detailed information about the banquet, dinner and possible other social events will be found here later.

Transport

The conference organizers will provide bus transport between the conference venue and hotels Tammer, Cumulus Koskikatu and Scandic Tampere at scheduled times (at the start/end times of the daily program). The buses also stop at the railway station. See this link for details.

Accommodation

The following hotels give special prices and have a quota of rooms by the code "SoC 2003" available between November 17 - 22 (except Scandic Hotel Tampere only until November 21). Please do the reservation from the hotel of your choice as soon as possible and at latest by October 24!

There will be a bus transport between the conference venue and hotels Tammer, Cumulus Koskikatu and Scandic Tampere which are all downtown hotels (about 1 - 1.5 km from the conference venue). Hotels Ramada and Villa are within a short walk (200-400 meters) from the conference venue.
