  • Prof. Alain Greiner, LIP6, Paris, France
  • Prof. Gerard Smit, University of Twente, The Netherlands
  • Prof. Axel Jantsch, KTH, Kista, Sweden
  • Prof. Davide Bertozzi, University of Ferrara, Italy

Call for Papers

The Call for Papers (pdf) is here.

The submission of industrial abstracts is over, thank you for your contributions. The industrial abstracts are one-pagers using the same format as scientific papers. Extra pages can be used, but an overpage charge is applied. The industrial papers accepted in the review will be printed as such to allow as short as possible lead time from submission to publication.

The submission of scientific papers is over, thank you for your contributions. The submission of a scientific paper should be a draft full-length paper in two-column format, no more than 4 pages, in pdf format. The final paper format templates are here:

For LaTeX, be sure to use the template's conference mode. See template documentation for details. Make sure to eliminate Type 3 fonts from your document BEFORE submission. E.g. use the following type of definition

\documentstyle[10pt,times,mathptm,psfig,twocolumn]{article}

with the times font leading to the use of vector graphics instead of bitmaps.

The papers may be accepted for oral or poster presentation. The decision of the presentation format will be made by the program chair, based on the comments from paper review. Independently of the presentation type, all papers are included in the proceedings. Extra pages can be purchased. The industrial papers lead always to an oral presentation on a separate industry forum track interleaved with the scientific/invited programme.

Submission Due Dates

  • Invited lectures and scientific papers: May 31, 2005.
  • Tutorials: June 30, 2005.
  • Industrial abstracts and panels: August 12, 2005.

The invited lectures, tutorials and panels shall be proposed directly to the general chairman Prof. Jari Nurmi.

Notification schedule

  • Notification of acceptance for the scientific papers: July 8, 2005.
  • Final camera-ready paper due by: August 12, 2005.
  • Confirmation of tutorials by: August 31, 2005.
  • Notification of acceptance for the industrial abstracts: September 23, 2005.
  • Panel discussion clearance by: October 31, 2005.

Purchase additional pages here! The same payment methods as for registration apply.

The fax number to submit the signed IEEE copyright form is +358 3 3115 4561.

Registration

The registration is closed, the event is over. Schedule:

  • Early registration on September 9 or earlier (500 euros)
  • Regular registration between September 10 and October 28 (600 euros)
  • Late registration from October 29 onwards (700 euros)
  • On-site registration is strongly discouraged

The dates are automatically determined by the local time in Finland (EET = UTC+2, +1h DST until Oct. 30).

Please note the 100-200 euros discounts for FPL 2005 participants, and pre-paid quotas for sponsors and exhibitors, organizer staff and invited speakers. The special circumstances will be checked. The possible methods of payment are bank transfer and credit card (Visa, MasterCard, EuroCard).

Note! If you are presenting a paper accepted to the event, you have to pay a registration fee although you would (otherwise) belong to a free/pre-paid category! (e.g. organizer, sponsor, exhibitor)

There is a separate fee for the tutorial on Monday, November 14. Sponsor and organizer staff and invited speakers are welcome free of charge (but with a pre-registration!).

Accompanying persons (spouses) can register for a reduced fee, but there is no special program arranged. Thus, the fee covers only the meals and coffee breaks. Similarly, the tutorial registration of an accompanying person covers only the meals/coffees of the day.

Exhibition

There is an exhibition of SoC design and implementation technology providers. Potential exhibitors are requested to contact directly prof. Nurmi.

The exhibit is open to all sorts of delegates and accompanying persons.

See the current list of exhibitors.
