Tammerkoski is the river that flows through Tampere. In the turn of the century it was very important, because factories usually used water power. There were textile factories, paper factories etc. along the riverside. There were several bridges over Tammerkoski: Pikkusilta , Satakunnansilta and Hämeensilta.
