Work

Technical Trainer, Digia Plc. Travelling around the world with activities mostly related to programming for mobile devices, especially smartphones.

Some terms heavily related to what I actually work with: Qt, Qt Quick, Symbian, S60, Maemo/MeeGo, Teaching, Training, Presenting, Consulting.

Previously working in Tampere University of Technology as a research assistant. Was involved in quite a bunch of courses during years 2004--2008.

Research

Postgraduate studies in Tampere University of Technology. Computer Science Education Reseach. Part of EDGE (Edge is a Development Group for Programming Education) -group.
Research focus is mainly in Program Visualizations aswell as other teaching technologies like Computer-Aided Assessment. Trying to write a PhD thesis right now.
Nowadays expanding my research a bit towards mobile programming through my work.

Freetime

• Family (Maria, Markus 8 years, Tuomas 6 years and Rasmus, 0 years)
• Music. Multiple instruments, mainly guitar. To get some idea of my obsession I do have: 5 guitars, 3 violins, a piano, drumset, cello, bass, keyboard, and some random small things that make noise. Involved in couple of bands also.
• Scuba diving, though lacking the time for it...
• Occasional bad golf
• Not being in Facebook (you can send me an e-mail, no problem...)
• I also do enjoy Ice hockey, football (soccer, that is) and H-D motorcycles.
