The Jorma Ollila special fund operating under the Nokia Foundation supports research in selected focus areas in order to advance the respective technology development. Dr. Andreev's grant is entitled "Performance Limits of Network-Assisted D2D Connectivity: Empowering 5G-grade IoT Solutions" (2015-2017) and has been one of the four projects funded in 2014.

The funded research sub-project as part of CONSENSUS consortium is entitled "Empowering Secure, Private, and Trusted Network-Assisted Device-to-Device Communication" (2014-2016). Only 20 (sub-)projects were funded in that call.

Granted Postdoctoral Researcher funding by Academy of Finland
Dr. Sergey Andreev has been granted prestigious personal support from the Academy of Finland in the form of Postdoctoral Researcher funding.
The funded research project is entitled "Characterizing the Performance Limits of Network-Assisted Device-to-Device Communications" (2014-2017). The success chances in that call have been 9% (only 35 out of 387 applications were funded).

Awarded the title of "Doctor of Technology"
Cand. Sc. Sergey Andreev has been awarded the title of "Doctor of Technology" by Tampere University of Technology, Finland.
His public defense took place on 21 August 2012 in Tietotalo Building, Auditorium TB109, at Tampere University of Technology. Given the recommendation of his opponent, Distinguished University Professor Anthony Ephremides, Sergey’s defense has been approved with distinction. His thesis work "Energy Efficient and Cooperative Solutions for Next-Generation Wireless Networks" is available online. This research has been supervised by Professor Yevgeni Koucheryavy.
