Dr. Sergey Andreev is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering, Tampere University of Technology, Finland.

His research directions embrace the following aspects of the state-of-the-art and future (5G and beyond) wireless communication systems:

  • Heterogeneous networking
  • Cooperative communications
  • Machine-to-machine applications
  • Energy efficiency

He has additional background and cross-disciplinary experience in information security, computer science, social networking, user experience studies, cross-layer system design, and radio propagation modeling.

This activity has resulted in the formation of the W.I.N.T.E.R. Group [Wireless Intelligence for Networking Technology by Engineering and Research].

Dr. Sergey Andreev currently serves on the Editorial Board of IEEE Wireless Communications Letters (since 2016).

He has experience in organizing international conferences, which includes the following:

Dr. Sergey Andreev has been named Exemplary Reviewer by IEEE Communications Letters in 2013.

He has been representing Finland as a Management Committee member of the EU-funded COST Action IC0906 "WiNeMO".

Dr. Sergey Andreev assesses the quality of scientific publications as reviewer for top-level journals, including IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, IEEE Communications Magazine, IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Communications Letters, and many others. Over the years, he was also a Technical Program Committee (TPC) member for many leading and visible international conferences, including IEEE Globecom, IEEE CCNC, ICT, ITST, CIComms, ICCVE, and others.

Dr. Sergey Andreev served as invited expert and featured as keynote speaker at multiple international events. His research work has been utilized in international wireless standardization, as well as was covered in both Finnish and international media.
