Dr. Sergey Andreev

Field of teaching

Dr. Sergey Andreev has been involved into teaching activity continuously since the late 2006, which as of now adds up to over 10 years of teaching experience. His teaching work has also been international: first in St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation (SUAI), Russia as Teaching Assistant (2006-2009) and then in Tampere University of Technology (TUT) as (Postdoc) Researcher (2010-present time).

The field of teaching expanded from Applied Programming, Data Networks, and Reliability Theory before 2010 to Wireless Networking, Wireless Communications Technologies, and Ad Hoc Networking in 2010s, as well as included recently 5G+ and 5G Networks, Information Systems Security, Energy Efficiency, Cooperative Communication, Heterogeneous Networks, and Machine-to-Machine Applications.

Dr. Sergey Andreev has completed "Pedagogical Skills for Teachers in Higher Education" study module (10,00 credits) organized at TUT by Tampere University of Applied Sciences, School of Vocational Teacher Education. The certificate is available here.

The course concentrated on developing the following skills:

  • Recognize the starting points of own learning and teaching as well as describe personal conceptions of humanity, knowledge, and learning
  • Use varied methods of evaluation and feedback to support the learning process of the students
  • Realize the impact of the subject matter as well as the previously acquired knowledge of the students on course design
  • Give pedagogical support for the students to advance their learning process

Dr. Sergey Andreev served as an invited expert in 5G-PPP Expert Group Workshop, China-Finland 5G Workshop, Centire Mobile Computing Workshop, featured as a keynote speaker at the 4th International Spectrum Congress, the 38th International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing, and the 40th Interdisciplinary Conference & School Information Technology and Systems 2016, as well as held numerous guest lectures at industry (Intel, Ericsson, Nokia/NSN/Bell Labs, etc.) and academia worldwide.
