CSMR 2004 Call for Submission: Tool Demonstration ProposalsABOUT THE CONFERENCEThe European Conference on Software Maintenance is the premier European conference on the theory and practice of evolution, maintenance and reengineering of software systems. Now approaching its eight edition, we invite you to contribute to the discussion on the issues of developing maintainable systems and evolving, migrating and reengineering existing ones. GOALThe goal of the tool demonstration session is to let conference participants to view software maintenance and reengineering tools in action and to discuss these systems with their creators. The topics of interest are related to software maintenance and reengineering. The theme of this year's tool demonstration session is "tools for architecture recovery/visualization". Although proposals related to this topic are welcome, this does not constitute a limitation. After the notification, authors of accepted tools may be invited to analyze some case study systems, and to present results at the conference, where we plan to create "clusters" where related tools would be compared and discussed. REVIEW PROCESSProposals will be reviewed according to relevance to the conference topics, novelty, technical soundness, quality of the written and graphics. EQUIPMENTTool demonstrators need to provide any kind of equipment necessary for the presentation (laptops, projectors, etc.). FORMAT OF THE PROPOSALSProposals should briefly describe approach/algorithms involved, the technology
adopted, and the fields of practical applications. Whenever possible, screenshots/graphics
can be used to better explain tool features. The proposals must me submitted according to

IMPORTANT DATES
ACCEPTED DEMONSTRATIONSAccepted demonstrations will be inserted in the CSMR 2004 tool demonstration proceedings, that will be distributed at the conference and also made available on the web. A CDROM, containing all the tools that authors would make available, will also be distributed. Finally, we are planning to publish an edited book with extended versions of proposals and session discussion reports.
