Communication networks laboratory course: ns-2 assignments

This laboratory course is active during the whole year. It consists of two parts. The first part is relatively easy and is aimed to provide basic concepts of the ns-2 simulator. In the second part, a student is required to conduct case studies dealing with: a) TCP and UDP ability to share available bandwidth; b) how router buffer size affects TCP performance and network characteristics; c) effects of parallel TCP connections on the link utilization.

Communication networks laboratory course: Telelogic SDL Suite (SDT) assignments

This laboratory course is active during the whole year. It consists of two parts: minor and major. The former one is aimed to get a student familiar with the SDT simulation environment. In the major one, a student is required to implement a simple model which simulates link control procedures.

Computer networking, part 1: Wireshark assignment

The assignment is coupled with the Computer Networking course, Part I. There are two parts with pre-configured trace files which teach a student the basics of using Wireshark. Wireshark is the world's foremost network protocol analyzer, and is the de facto standard across many industries and educational institutions. Wireshark has a rich feature set which includes the following: deep inspection of hundreds of protocols, live capture and offline analysis, rich VoIP analysis, etc.
