Find the ideal starshaped neighborhood of the estimation point



Such neighborhoods are ideal in the sense that they define the support of pointwise minimal-MSE kernel estimators. However the size and the shape of these ideal neighborhoods depend on the signal's local geometry which in general is not known. Even when the geometry is simple it can happen that
every point has its own different ideal neighborhood.
