IHTE-1806: Postgraduate Seminar in Interactive Technology (2-4 cp), 2011-

Contact person at IHTE: Satu Jumisko-Pyykkö (satu.jumisko-pyykko@tut.fi)

Beginning in January 2011, we have arranged a joint postgraduate seminar with the TAUCHI research unit from University of Tampere. The seminar contains presentations by postgraduate students from both units. The presentations can be, for example:

  • Presentations of research plans (two opponents)
  • Conference presentations or their rehearsals (two opponents)
  • Presentations of doctoral dissertations (when they are nearly finished)
  • Rehearsals of lectio praecursoria
  • Trip reports from conferences
  • Presentations from visiting lecturers

There will be about 9 seminar meetings each year. You have to be a post-graduate student in order to gain credit points at the seminar. Master's students can however also attend the seminar meetings. The language of the seminar is English.

  • Presence in nine seminar meetings: 1 credit point
  • You can gather presence points over multiple years, provided that you have at least some activity each year
  • Seminar sessions, in which you act as an opponent for another student's presentation, give you two presence points
  • Two full presentations at the seminar yield 1 credit point. Short trip presentations do not count, but comprehensive reports do. A very large presentation may alone yield 1 credit point.
  • For IHTE postgraduate students, it is possible to gain a minimum of two and a maximum of four credit points from this seminar (the seminar implementation arranged jointly with TAUCHI)

  • The first seminar session is arranged on Friday, January 14 at 9-11 at University of Tampere, Pinni B1029. See full seminar timetable at the seminar web pages at TAUCHI.
