SGN-5906 Spring 2010 Postgraduate Seminar:
Mobile VR, AR and 3D graphics
The seminar is organised during periods 4 & 5 in Spring 2010. This page will be continuously updated. Check back often.
Topic: Yearly changing topic. This year the seminar will focus on recent developments in mobile VR/AR and 3D graphics. They are emerging to wider deployment also in the mobile world, and advances in technology has made possible many unprecedented features and applications.
Organisation: Lectures approx. 20 hours, personal assignments, and final workshop.
The VR course should be taken before coming to this seminar. This course is intended for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Format: Lectures are in English and organised as student presentations, supported by invited expert presentations and other material. The goal of the presentations is to seek and analyse information about a given topic.
In order to participate, you must give two 45min presentations and a final presentation at the workshop in May. The presentations will be allocated during the first lecture.
Each student is required to attend at least 70% of the lectures and to attend the final workshop. Due to the nature of the seminar, please do not drop out.
The final workshop presentation consists of writing an English language conference paper and presenting it in the final workshop. The workshop is organised as a real scientific workshop at the end of the seminar and is used to disseminate information to others and to train presentation skills in real scientific events.
Place and Time: TC131, Thursdays at 12:15 - 14:00, and workshop in May 2010, date to be defined later.
