The research work is divided into four main phases:
Phase I: construction of a video coding framework for the hybrid audio/video coding proposal
Phase II: research and analysis of various algorithms and implementation possibilities for the opportunistic network coding over diverse communication networks
Phase III: implementation and fine-tuning the coding process to an optimal performance both in audiovisual quality and throughput
Phase IV: the survey of application areas and commercialization of the coding process.
At least the following results are expected from this project:
new innovative ideas and knowledge in the field of image/video coding and network coding
highly portable software implemented and can be used in different computation platforms with mainstream operating systems
yield totally new guidelines for digital video compression and transmission over diverse networks
