IMPROVE Project (BIOMED-1)
IMPROVE Project aims at improving control of patient status in
critical care through computer analysis of the patient's vital signs.
This concerted action project belongs to the BIOMED-1 program financed
by the European Union and EES countries. Project coordinator was
Prof. Niilo Saranummi in the subgroup of Health Care Technology
of the Information Technology Laboratory in the
Technical Research Center of Finland (VTT).
The international participants of the project came from Denmark,
Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain
and United Kingdom.
In addition to the coordinators two laboratories participated the
IMPROVE project in
Tampere,
Finland
as accociate participants.
The
Institute of Signal Processing of Tampere University of Technology
has long-term experience in the processing of physiological signals
with nonlinear methods. The Department of Clinical Neurophysiology in Tampere
University Hospital medical expertise for the project through their
studies of physological signals during anaesthesia.
