Pointwise Shape-Adaptive DCT Plug-ins for Adobe Photoshop - Public release v1.00 (18 january 2008) Alessandro Foi - Tampere University of Technology - 2007-2008 (implementation by Sergey Smirnov and Kostadin Dabov) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The package comprises two filters: SADCTdenoise.8bf (denoising of grayscale and color images) SADCTdeblock.8bf (deblocking and deringing of grayscale and color B-DCT compressed images, such as JPEG images) These filters replicate the corresponding ones from the Pointwise Shape-Adaptive DCT Demobox for Matlab. The algorithms are described in Foi, A., V. Katkovnik, and K. Egiazarian, "Pointwise Shape-Adaptive DCT for High-Quality Denoising and Deblocking of Grayscale and Color Images", IEEE Trans. Image Process., vol. 16, no. 5, pp. 1395-1411, May 2007. Requirements: These Photoshop filters were compiled using Photoshop CS SDK, thus are meant to be used under Photoshop CS. However, they can work also under earlier versions. In particular, they were successfully tested with Photoshop 5.5. Installation: Copy the .8bf files to the plug-ins folder of Adobe Photoshop (e.g., C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS\Plug-Ins\ ). Usage: The filters appear under a "TUT" category at the bottom of the "Filter" menu and work the same as built-in filters. Updates, examples, publications, presentations, etc. can be found at http://www.cs.tut.fi/~foi/SA-DCT Disclaimer: Any unauthorized use of these filters for industrial or profit-oriented activities is expressively prohibited. By downloading and/or using any of these files, you implicitly agree to all the terms of the TUT limited license (included in the file Legal_Notice.txt).
